Head Coach

Sean WhiteSean White

Sean White was named head coach of the Beaver wrestling program in the fall of 2021.  He spent the prior seven seasons as the program's top assistant coach.

Throughout his tenure, White has been a part of 13 regional placewinners, two national qualifiers and one All-American (NWCA).  He also plays a very large role in Northwest Iowa Wrestling Regional Training Center guiding practices for elite student-athletes in the area.

During his first season at BVU, White was instrumental in the success of Iowa Conference Freshman of the Year Nashid Barrow and NWCA Scholar All-American Seth Shatto.  White guided BVU Wrestling to the Beaver Service Award in 2015 with his tireless effort coordinating the team’s civic engagement activities.

White arrived on campus after spending the 2013-14 campaign as an assistant coach at the University of Central Missouri.  While with the Mules, he helped coach one NCAA champion and All-American while the team placed 18th overall in NCAA Division II.

From 2011-13, he served as an assistant coach at Neosho Community College (Kan.) and helped produce a pair of NJCAA national champions as well as six All-Americans during his tenure.  In 2012, the team placed 11th overall before taking 13th a year later.

White is no stranger to the American Rivers Conference (formerly named the Iowa Conference) as he was a 2010 graduate of Wartburg College.  During his career with the Knights, he was a 2010 Iowa Conference Champion and a national qualifier at 133 pounds.  He was a member of two NCAA Championship teams and four IIAC team titles.

White has a B.A. degree in Fitness Management, and following his graduation, spent one year as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Colorado Mesa University while also assisting with the wrestling program.  He also has a master's degree in sports management.

White, along with his wife, Bailey, reside in Cleghorn, Iowa, along with their two daughters, Avelynn and Braelya.
